Distributed Sensing for Weather Stations
Environdata's Distributed Sensors - an economical way to expand your weather monitoring
You can now add extra sensors to your Weather Maestro weather stations using advanced LoRa Wireless Technology. Up to 4 remote sensor units, each with 2 sensors, can be located, each up to 7km from your Weather Maestro Weather station. A dedicated Soil Moisture station can also be connected.
What does this mean for you? Simply put, a cost effective way to monitor weather over a much wider area. No need for additional data loggers and modems.
Imagine:
- Four additional Rain Gauges across your property.
- Temperature and Humidity in key cropping areas.
- Wind Speed at several locations of your site to warn of high wind events and keep your team safe.
- Measure the level of your water storages at multiple sites with one system.
Any time you have thought of adding additional weather or related monitoring on site, but didn’t want the cost of a full station, we now have the answer, all designed and manufactured for strength and longevity, even in the most extreme environments - Australian Made quality, reliability and support.
Distributed Sensors
Applications are many and varied. Some typical use cases include:
- Rainfall monitoring over your whole site
- Soil Moisture in Crop - Tripod Based
- Water Storage Monitoring across muliple storage locations
- Wind Warning Systems across a large site
- Tree crop remote temperature and humidity

Economical Expansion of your Site's Weather Monitoring
- Your site typically needs only one main weather station. Yet there are areas of your property you just can't monitor with sensors only in one place. Previously that meant adding a whole second weather station, often just to record from a few sensors.
- With Environdata's Distributed Sensors you can now save the costs of a full weather station - typically you will not need to add multiple data loggers, mounting for the data logger, telemetry such as a cellular modems or satellite modems, along with the ongoing data costs.
- Adding distributed ssensors allows you to economically record your weather dtat with your main Weather Maestro weather station - in the places you need to record it, at a fraction of the costs you previously faced if you needed to install multiple weather stations.
All Your Data in One Place
Expanding your weather monitoring with Distributed sensors means your remote weather sensors all record in the same weather station data logger as your primary sensors. All memories, in one place.
Wether you are downloading directly, using our WeatherMation LIVE web portal, or integrating your data via API or MODBUS to your SCADA; this makes everything straightforward.
Downloading is easier, reporting is easier, alerts are easier.
